Health Sciences Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor – Restorative Dentistry – AEGD Program Director University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF10506 The University of California Los Angeles, School of Dentistry invites qualified applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the level of Health Sciences Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor in the Section of Restorative Dentistry. The candidate will serve as the program director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) – Westwood location. The candidate will also participate in the broader educational programs of the Section. This full-time position is available immediately and the search will remain open until the position has been filled. The primary responsibilities of this position include providing clinical and didactic instruction to AEGD residents with a focus on comprehensive treatment planning, interdisciplinary care, and evidence-based practice. The Program Director will oversee the daily operations of the Westwood AEGD program, including the coordination of schedules, faculty assignments, clinic operations, and resident mentorship. The individual will ensure that the program maintains full compliance with CODA accreditation standards and will lead the preparation of required documentation and support for site visits and reporting. In addition to managing program logistics, the candidate will collaborate with faculty from across disciplines and with institutional partners to support high-quality patient care and an integrated educational experience for residents. Supervision, evaluation, and mentorship of residents are central responsibilities of this role. In addition to duties specific to the AEGD program, the selected candidate will contribute to the clinical education of predoctoral dental students when appropriate and will be encouraged to participate in scholarly activity and quality improvement initiatives that align with the program’s mission. Service to the School, University, and profession is expected. An opportunity for part-time intramural private practice may also be available. Applicants must possess: (1) a DMD/DDS degree or equivalent, (2) a California dental license or special permit (or be eligible to obtain); (3) completion of a CODA-accredited AEGD or General Practice Residency (GPR) program, and eligible to serve as program director according to CODA. Additional postgraduate specialty training (e.g. Prosthodontics) is preferred. A track record of administration experience and outstanding patient care, as well as a demonstration of or likely commitment to diversity-related teaching/research/service are highly desirable. Engagement and familiarity in interdisciplinary treatment planning and modern restorative techniques, including esthetic and digital dentistry, is preferred but not required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
