The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking outstanding applicants to fill the position of Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the Division of Medical Oncology. Under general supervision and in accordance with standardized procedures, the nurse practitioner/physician assistant performs physical examinations and treats common episodic and chronic health care problems, counsels patients and families, monitors patient progress, and assists with clinical research projects. The nurse practitioner/physician assistant works in collaboration with other health care team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, but retains responsibility for ongoing clinical management of oncology patients. Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and interest in serving a diverse patient population in private clinical practice. This position will be hired as a clinical instructor. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Minimum Field of Expertise/Required License and Certification: Possession of current certificate of completion from a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Current and valid California State RN and Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant licenses, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Clinical nursing experience. A fire and safety certification are required. If an applicant does not have this certification upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date. The annual base salary range for this position is $152,880-$215,300.80.
