Department Summary The Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology advances our knowledge of life on earth at the cellular and molecular levels. Our faculty conducts research with a variety of models including Arabidopsis, Drosophila, zebrafish, mouse and stem cells to address the most pressing problems in biology, health and sustainability. Position Summary The Department of Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology (MCDB) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Manager (Lab Assistant II) to support innovative stem cell research in a dynamic and collaborative laboratory environment. Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, the Lab Manager will play a key role in advancing critical experiments involving mammalian stem cell culture, stem cell reprogramming, differentiation, and immunofluorescence microscopy. This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology, who are eager to contribute to impactful research. Responsibilities include preparing reagents, maintaining precise experimental records, and assisting with data analysis. The Lab Manager will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the labensuring supplies are ordered, workspaces are organized, and compliance standards are met. Qualifications 1+ years Experience in a research laboratory with demonstrated experience using design software. (Preferred) Experience with maintaining and repairing small biology lab equipment. (Preferred) Demonstrated experience in preparing and implementing laboratory experiments on mammalian stem cells. (Preferred) Ability to maintain a laboratory notebook containing clear well-organized record of experiments and observations on a regular basis. (Required) Ability to perform standard cell and molecular biology assays including PCR and agarose gel electrophoresis, immunofluorescence and microscopy. (Preferred) Ability to maintain and differentiate mammalian stem cells. (Preferred) Ability to isolate and analyze DNA, RNA. Protein and Chromatin (Preferred) Ability to perform induced reprogramming. (Preferred) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor’s Degree In a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
