Lecturer-Neurosc/Psych M116A UNDERGRADUATE NEUROSCIENCE INTERDEPARTMENTAL PROGRAM University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF10124 Position: The undergraduate Neuroscience Interdepartmental Program at UCLA seeks a part-time lecturer to teach Neurosc/Psych M116A in Spring 2025. The course is a team-taught course where an instructor will be responsible for three weeks of teaching six lab courses/week with ~25 students each. Percentage of employment will vary according to number of courses taught in total. Applicants seeking to teach these same courses (see below) across multiple years are preferred. Salary range: The posted UC salary scales https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/2024-25-academic-salary-scales.html ) set the minimum pay determined by the experience level at time of hire. See Table 15: Unit 18 Faculty, Pre-Six Year Appointments, Academic Year. The annual salary range for this position is $68,247 (Salary Point 1) – $72,404 (Salary Point 3) effective July 1, 2024. Duties: Teach (and co-teach) lecture, laboratory, and outreach in neuroscience and other topics as needed; plan and coordinate discussion activities for multiple sections of courses; supervise course teaching assistants; manage the acquisition and maintenance of course materials; develop computer applications for the classroom; supervise student projects; and maintain office hours. Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences related to neuroscience; demonstrated experience in undergraduate teaching at the university level; experience with laboratory instruction in the biological sciences. Ability to team-teach Neurosc/Psych M116A – Behavioral Neuroscience Laboratory https://catalog.registrar.ucla.edu/course/2024/NEUROSCM116A is required.
