We are currently seeking an On-Call Mail Clerk to support our office operations. This is a flexible, as-needed position ideal for someone looking to earn extra income rather than relying on regular, full-time hours. There is no guarantee of consistent or set hours, and availability during standard business hours is required.
?? Pay Rate: $18–$20/hr
?? Location: 2211 Congress Street, Portland, ME 04102
?? Work Hours/Shift: On-call basis (typically between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
o Deliver professional, 5-star customer service to employees and clients through timely, friendly, and effective communication.
o Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages; manage outgoing correspondence efficiently.
o Handle all shipping and receiving duties with accuracy; notify recipients of deliveries.
o Operate common mailroom equipment (e.g., postage meters, copiers, folding/inserting machines).
o Track office supplies and ensure inventory is stocked and organized.
o Submit work orders, handle emails, manage records, and assist with general office equipment.
o May provide assistance with reception, concierge, or hospitality services as needed.
Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Open and flexible availability
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift mail/packages and be on your feet during shifts
  • Previous mailroom, customer service, or office experience preferred
