Northrop Grumman is looking for an Assistant Department Manager (ADM) for the Digital Integrated Circuits and Electronics Department – an organization of 100+ engineers that develops FPGA and ASIC Electronics for Space Systems, including processor, routing and switching, and digital communication products. The successful candidate will possess the project management skills to oversee all phases of FPGA and ASIC development, including but not limited to proposal and costing, requirements derivation, design, verification, and testing, with roles ranging from individual contribution to leadership of design teams.

Primary responsibility is to assist the Department Manager in the day-to-day operations of the department; specific tasks include:

* oversee on-going and new product development

* support proposal activities and new business development

* ensure programs are adequately staffed and hiring goals are met

* enforce process compliance and support process improvement initiatives

* work with customers to ensure expectations are fully met

* support capital and indirect resource planning and control

* identify employee training needs

* provide career guidance and performance assessment of 10 to 15 direct senior staff engineers

The role will have broad exposure to other product/process areas across Northrop Grumman Space Systems and will require a demonstrated ability to work with multiple disciplines to ensure the successful development & insertion of key ASIC and FPGA technologies in an increasingly cost-competitive environment.  The selected candidate should possess:

*Basic Qualifications:*

* Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 8+ years of experience in Engineering

* A minimum of 7 years of experience in digital unit, or ASIC/FPGA design

* Prior leadership experience as a technical, program, functional manager or team lead

* Prior experience in cost and schedule management

* Ability to manage engineers in a process driven environment

* Ability to obtain and maintain government clearance

* US Citizenship required

*Preferred Qualifications:*

* Advanced Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)

* Excellent interpersonal skills

* Aptitude to develop and execute to a strategy

* Self-directed technical leader with strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to prepare and present clear and concise reports

* Prior program management or Integrated Product Team leadership experience

* Experienced in product development, proposal support, managing capital and indirect budgets

* Active TS/SCI and SSBI clearance

*Salary Range: *$180,600 – $271,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
