This requisition is for both the A&E Common Products sub-IPT Lead and deputy-sub-IPT lead roles.

The A&E Common Products sub-IPT lead and co-lead will lead a cross-disciplinary engineering & production team responsible for the design, development, production and sustainment of common product RF electronics units.

The Common Products sub-IPT lead must be able to build strong teams, develop talent, drive execution, lead change, and solve complex technical problems.

The Common Products sub-IPT lead will report directly to the A&E IPT APM & Deputy, and is responsible for:

  • Directly leading and managing a cross-functional engineering team of 30+ engineers in addition to production operations.
  • Executing the program schedule and technical baselines to complete the design, build, integration and delivery of flight hardware, with a strategic focus on affordability.
  • Contributing to proposals and baseline planning for new business activities.
  • Manage the critical production activities for a A&E Common Products hardware for multiple shipsets.
  • Directing the management of multiple suppliers and subcontracts.
  • Identifying and realizing opportunities to reduce cost and improve processes
  • Meeting all security, organizational conflict of interest, export control, protection of proprietary information, and risk and opportunity management processes.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline
  • 12+ years experience with space communication hardware and system management
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • SSBI, SCI clearance
  • Experience with CAM (Cost Account Management) reporting tools for overall program management and system delivery
  • Ability to integrate, engage and lead team to perform at top level of performance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Demonstrated strong people and technical leadership skills; with experience leading a team of >10+ employees
  • Electronics design development and sustaining experience spanning cradle to grave
  • Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills
  • Experience supporting bid & proposal activities
  • Familiarity with electrical design, electronics manufacturing processes and qualification activities
  • Familiarity with research and development of advanced technologies

This position reports to Redondo Beach, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Manhattan Beach, CA, CA, USA.

Salary Range: $171,000 USD – $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
