The hourly rate for this position is $20.77-$34.62 per hour.

What you’ll do:
Eaton’s Aerospace Sector is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team. This position is based at our Torrance CA facility.
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be responsible for one of manufacturing engineering projects dedicated to work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedure creation, in addition to other duties as assigned. The manufacturing engineering function is responsible for creating cycles of improvement throughout the organization by leading capital deployment, continuous improvement / cost-out projects, and other operations excellence initiatives.

During your 11-week internship, you will:
- Create, update, and revise manufacturing work instructions to capture manufacturing operation processes for future reference and operator training.
- Work with manufacturing engineers to learn routing structure within ERP system and make improvements to better reflect current operations and machines used.
- Ensure processes conform to all applicable safety, quality, and statutory regulations.
- Work with operations to learn our manufacturing processes and provide support for specific areas as needed.
- Conduct time studies for specific manufacturing processes to update standard times and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in rapid improvement events and continuous improvement activities, with a focus on 5S+ implementation.
- Participate in PFMEA reviews to learn and contribute to process failure mitigation.
- Help modify site procedures to improve simplicity, relevance, and ease of understanding.
- Participate in cost saving projects, quantifying impact to site through labor and material calculations.
- Utilize SolidWorks to design fixtures/tooling and build through additive manufacturing (3D Printing).
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an engineering discipline at an accredited institution (college or university).
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA or higher.
- Relocation is not provided for this role. Candidates must reside within the immediate geographic area to be considered.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
• CAD experience (SolidWorks) and required working knowledge and experience with computers preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP).
• Strong coaching and facilitation skills.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
• Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese)
• Experience with PCB assembly or soldering.
