Occupational & Environ Health Your Role on the Team Under the supervision of physician or clinic supervisor, the medical assistant will perform a variety of tasks for the UCI Center for Occupational Health. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills are essential. Primary MA duties include registering clinic patients, maintaining records, preparing reports, updating patient files and assisting with patient flow during clinic hours. Perform clinical duties including spirometry, audiometry, vision testing; specimen collection; recording patient data; administrating injections, and bronchodilator. Assist with patient billing including maintaining excel Encounter/Billing Log, prepare billing invoices for contractor and insurance patients, prepare and submit deposits. This position provides coverage for the back office and front office/reception which can vary based on clinic needs. Teamwork is valued in this office. What It Takes to be Successful Required: Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Assistant duties Knowledge of insurances Data entry ability Must comply with JCAHO requirements regarding TB/ABP varies screenings Must have Medical Assistant certificate/license Ability to obtain patient vital signs. Ability to take spirometry readings. Vision testing experience Immunization protocols Ability to prepare patients for resting and treadmill EKGs.
