We are hiring a Medical Scheduler.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Schedule all patient appointments (pre-op, post-op) and surgeries.
* Verify insurance, obtain surgery authorizations, and health clearances.
* Ensure pre-op studies are scheduled and completed.
* Coordinate OR times and clinical staff for procedures.
* Review surgery risks and benefits with patients per doctor’s orders.
* Enlist patients in required education classes before surgery.
* Act as primary contact and liaison between patient, physician, and departments.
* Arrange special equipment requested by the physician for procedures.
* Respond to patient inquiries and complaints; escalate issues when needed.
* Provide concierge coordination between office and patient representative.
* Manage physician referral queues and complete referrals.
* Handle physician correspondence, forms, authorizations, and calendar.
* Prepare charts and update patient demographics and insurance info.
* Work with billing team for audits and ensure surgical reports/charges are sent.
* Collaborate with workers’ comp adjusters and case managers for authorizations.
* Provide clinical or administrative support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Flu vaccinated (no exemptions/no declinations)
* 2 years of experience with surgery/procedure scheduling
HUGE PLUS:
* Previous experience as PSR or MA
* Previous surgery center experience
* Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin
