You’ve been selected as a potential strong fit for an Operations Manager position with a leading manufacturer of packaging for consumer-packaged goods as well as tableware, cups, folding cartons, containers, carriers, trays and service-ware for the food-service industry and retail market.

This role is very important for continuous improvement of their facility in Los Angeles California. They are targeting a military veteran with a strong aptitude for cost-savings and waste elimination. You will use your experience in continuous improvement to strategically plan and execute CI projects and instill a culture of continuous improvement. This position is a first shift role, on days, Monday through Friday, with some weekends. However, be prepared for being mission-focused which includes seeing projects through to the implementation.

Essential functions:

– Promotes WCO (world class operations) by acting as a change agent, and works closely with operations to identify project opportunities

– Define scope and financial justification for projects

– Report the project status and results and document all project activities

– Identify, train, and develop WCO team members

– Lead and train teams to execute the company’s World Class Operations program, which includes their 12-step total productive management Project Kaizen Engineer (TPM PKE), autonomous maintenance (AM) and production control system (PCS) pillars

– Lead and train teams to execute assigned Six Sigma black belt and green belt projects and Lean events that include Quality and Kanban, SUR and TPM tools

– Expert in the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools, ensuring tools are used appropriately by team members

– Identifies and assists in removal of barriers to projects

– Ensures 2-way open communication throughout the organization for the CI process
