A dedicated personal injury law firm committed to advocating for individuals who have suffered harm due to the negligence of others. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional legal services.
Position Overview:
The Personal Injury Paralegal will play a pivotal role in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process, from case inception through settlement or trial. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of personal injury law, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
Oversee case files from intake through resolution, ensuring all deadlines are met and documents are filed timely.
Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, including medical records, correspondence, and discovery materials.
Client Communication:
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
Conduct initial client interviews to gather pertinent information and assess case viability.
Legal Document Preparation:
Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements.
Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits, witness lists, and deposition summaries.
Medical Record Management:
Obtain, review, and summarize medical records and bills to support claims.
Collaborate with medical providers to ensure accurate documentation and timely receipt of records.
Legal Research:
Conduct legal research to support case development and strategy.
Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents in personal injury law.
Trial and Settlement Support:
Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders.
Coordinate settlement negotiations and prepare settlement documents as needed.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Paralegal certification from an accredited program is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal injury law.
Strong knowledge of personal injury law, including tort law, negligence, and insurance claims.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
