The Department of Political Science and International Relations in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California invites applications for part-time, teaching-track faculty positions for the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters. The position is open to the ranks of Instructor, Lecturer, Adjunct Assistant Professor (Teaching), Adjunct Associate Professor (Teaching), Adjunct Professor (Teaching), Assistant Professor of the Practice, Assistant Professor (Teaching), Associate Professor (Teaching), and Professor (Teaching). Successful candidates would teach up to four undergraduate courses during the academic year (and no more than two in each semester). Qualifications: Applicants should have completed an advanced degree in a relevant field (PhD preferred) and show evidence of teaching excellence in the fields of Political Science and International Relations. We will strongly prioritize applicants who have successful experience teaching undergraduate classes in these fields and who have subject-matter expertise in one or more of the highlighted subject areas: -Intelligence and Cyber Ops -International Relations: Violence and Conflict, Security, and Diplomacy (especially European security and diplomacy) -Public Law -International Finance -Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality in Politics and International Relations -Environmental Law, Policy, and Politics – Regional expertise on China, South Asia, the Middle East, or Africa Application Materials: Cover Letter (including thorough description of relevant expertise and experience) Curriculum Vitae Teaching Evaluations and sample syllabi, if available The names of three individuals who will be contacted by USC for a letter of reference (referees should speak to teaching abilities) In order to be considered for this position, all candidates must apply via the “Apply” link at the top or bottom of this page.
