About the Role:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our payroll department. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for processing day-to-day payroll transactions using ADP Workforce Now, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies. You will collaborate closely with Human Resources and the payroll team to deliver excellent service and contribute to a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll transactions accurately and timely using ADP Workforce Now.
Enter and maintain employee data, including changes, terminations, and pay adjustments.
Process off-cycle manual checks, direct deposits, and paper checks.
Analyze and audit payroll data for accuracy, including intercompany transactions.
Process 401(k) contributions, benefits spending accounts, and wage garnishments.
Assist with year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c, 1095, etc.).
Manage workflow to ensure timely and accurate processing of HRIS and payroll transactions.
Assist with the time and attendance feature and its interface with the payroll system.
Identify opportunities to improve ADP Workforce Now functionality and optimize the employee experience.
Provide excellent customer service to employees, answering inquiries related to compensation, pay, taxes, benefits, time recording, and time off.
Collaborate with Human Resources to process employee data and changes.
Reporting & Analysis:
Execute ad hoc financial and operational reporting, as requested.
Gather and analyze data and metrics for human resource and workforce planning and reporting.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of strong payroll policies, processes, and methods.
Ensure accurate setup and compliance with company policies and federal/state pay regulations.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in accounting, human resources, business, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in payroll processing may be considered in lieu of an Associate Degree.
