Job Title: Claims Paralegal

Pay Rate: $26.00 per hour
Job Description:
A Claims Paralegal provides essential legal support in the handling of insurance claims, litigation, and settlement negotiations. They assist attorneys by reviewing and analyzing claims, drafting legal documents, and conducting research related to insurance policies, liability, and damages. Claims Paralegals manage case files, coordinate with adjusters, clients, and opposing counsel, and ensure compliance with all legal deadlines. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with insurance and litigation procedures are crucial for success in this role.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze insurance claims, policy coverage, and legal liability issues.
- Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, settlement agreements, demand letters, and discovery responses.
- Organize and maintain case files, including medical records, police reports, and expert evaluations.
- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, and industry regulations relevant to claims and insurance disputes.
- Prepare case summaries, deposition summaries, and trial exhibits.
- Coordinate and communicate with insurance adjusters, claimants, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.
- File and track court documents, motions, and pleadings in compliance with deadlines.
- Investigate facts of the case by gathering relevant evidence, reviewing surveillance reports, and analyzing financial losses.
- Assist in trial preparation by preparing witness lists, subpoenas, and exhibits.
- Monitor and update case law, legal databases, and reference materials related to claims and insurance litigation.
Required Experience:
- 1-2 Years experience as a claims paralegal, preferably within Personal Injury
- Ability to handle 60+ caseload
- Proficiency with LexisNexis, MS Office, and timekeeping software
- NC/SC licensure preferred
