Postdoctoral Scholar University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF10084 The Geschwind lab at UCLA is interested in the basic and translational mechanisms in neurobiology of disease. We are searching for a highly motivated, creative, and interested individual to join a world-class community of neuroscientists at UCLA. Salary range is $66737-80034 Duties and Responsibilities Develop and execute an independent research project relevant to the lab’s focus in genomics of neuropsychiatric diseases Mentor undergraduate and graduate student researchers Analyze and interpret data Prepare figures and draft manuscripts Present research at local, regional, and national meetings Apply for fellowship awards Required Qualifications PhD in Neuroscience, biology or similar discipline stablished track record demonstrating ability to complete projects Experience working with rodents Competency with fluorescence microscopy Excellent scientific communication skills Willingness to learn and ability to function independently Preferred Qualifications Experience in establishing and implementing complex biological protocols Procurement of cell-type specific primary cultures Experience with RNA and protein extraction from complex tissue Experience with chromatin and genome architecture profiling techniques Competency with MATLAB, Python or other programming languages Some computational neuroscience experience Experience with rodent behavioral studies and/or surgical procedures (craniotomies, stereotaxic injections) At least one first-author publication Application procedure: Apply by submitting your application to our online RECRUIT system at https:/ / recruit.apo.ucla.edu/ JPF10084 along with CV, statement of research, and 3 references (optional).
