Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Incumbent is responsible for optimizing procurement processes and strategies within the organization and contributing to the achievement of the health system’s procurement objectives. Involves acquisition of goods and services including equipment acquisition, contracting for professional services, design and / or construction services, business contracts, maintenance services, consulting and personal services. Required Qualifications: Advanced level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software Strong negotiating skills Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training Full knowledge of the purchasing function Ability to communicate complex information to others verbally and in writing In depth ability to analyze, interpret and research essential information from multiple sources Effective interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain credibility and working relationships with vendors, colleagues and client groups Strong customer service orientation as demonstrated by the ability to respond proactively and positively to customer service needs and problems Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architectures and systems analysis methodologies and practices Advanced skills in the use of ERP / financial systems (such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of UC procurement policies, the organization’s departments and operations and Federal Acquisition Regulations Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
