The Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for an Procurement Manager (Level K)  to join our BGS – C Modifications and Conversions team in Long Beach, CA. In this role the selected candidate will lead a team to support procurement activities for aftermarket goods and services in a fast-paced environment while learning new skills, solving challenging problems, and experiencing opportunities to grow in the Supply Chain organization. This position acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages Procurement Agent employees performing activities related to committing company resources to purchase goods and services, developing supplier strategies, development of bid packages, proposal analysis, and development of contracts

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Provides oversight regarding negotiation processes and related tools. Manages, develops and motivates employees

  • Builds and maintains relationships and partnerships with suppliers, program, customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Ability to analyze data to develop strategies that help improve supplier performance

  • Conducts supplier assessments and evaluates risk, issues, opportunities and impacts to program / customer requirements

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management/Procurement as a Purchasing Agent or Buyer, Supplier Program Manager, Supply Chain Management Analyst/Item Manager, or Supply Base Manager  

  • 5+ years of leadership experience (team lead/project manager/manager).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Experience working with suppliers and managing a supply base in a dynamic environment with frequent expedited procurement demands and managing supplier recovery plans. 

  • Experience in proposing, negotiating, and executing complex contracts and/or subcontracts

  • Experience in data analysis and strategic decision making.

Summary pay range: $118,150 – $159,850
