Description
As a Production Engineer with PPG’s Aerospace Business working onsite at our Sylmar manufacturing facility, you will support transformational projects within transparency assembly. This entry-level role combines Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering principles to improve processes, resolve manufacturing issues and grow Sylmar’s commercial transparencies program. Reporting directly to the Commercial Production Manager you will have a hands-on with Lean manufacturing processes and collaborate across teams and with production staff.
Key Responsibilities

Optimize and grow manufacturing processes and transition to a single piece flow pull system in the final assembly area.

Redefine routings, labor standards, work instructions, and tooling requirements.

Evaluate and disposition non-conforming materials in manufacturing process.

Apply Lean tools (e.g., value stream mapping, time studies) to improve throughput and efficiency.

Collaborate to resolve production issues and lead strategic improvements.

Lead ergonomic projects to enhance employee safety and comfort.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline required.

1+ years of relevant manufacturing experience (internships/co-ops included).

Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or databases

Comfortable working both in office and on the production floor.

Prior experience with 3D printing preferred

Prior experience with CAD software preferred
The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$92,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 4.5% of base salary.
