Project Scientist Position in Medicine-Pediatrics (AIR-P) 2024-2025 University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF09701 The Division of General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research, Medicine-Pediatrics Section, in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applicants for a Project Scientist position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full rank. Research activities will include supporting Med-Peds projects related to disability and autism research, including but not limited to the Autism Research Intervention Network on Physical Health (AIR-P). Within the AIR-P, the candidate would support the National Coordinating Center’s research infrastructure such as the AIR-P Scholars Program, Infrastructure for Collaborative Research (ICR), and mentor staff research associates. An M.D. and/or Ph.D. is required. Specific tasks and duties for the AIR-P includes recruiting and reviewing for our grant program, supporting the start-up and design of new studies, and facilitating data collection and analysis activities. Successful applicants have a degree in all social science, STEM, and autism-related fields including psychiatry and developmental psychology and 5+ years of demonstrated autism research experience in a research institution. Candidate must be familiar with federal grants processes. Candidate must also be proficient in quantitative research and familiar with building and maintaining translational research databases (e.g., proficient in quantitative data analysis and statistics, data management of large datasets, and translating statistics to lay language). Specifically, candidate will be supporting the implementation of the ICR. Candidate must have demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary collaborations, working in teams, and co-leading projects with autistic and neurodivergent scientists. A reasonable estimate for this position is $74,100 – $195,000.
