The Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking a full-time board certified (preferred) or board eligible Adult Psychiatrist to care for patients within the Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) at Los Angeles General Medical Center. We are seeking an experienced psychiatrist to join a diverse and dynamic multidisciplinary team who are strongly committed to providing excellent, multiculturally competent, clinical treatment to patients and training to psychiatric residents and medical students. We are seeking candidates who are reflective of our diverse patient population and who have strong clinical skills, and will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, collegial, professional environment. This is a full-time clinical faculty position with academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and clinical service assignment at Los Angeles General Medical Center. Salary is competitive, and contingent on experience. Essential Functions: Report to and work closely with the Psych service chiefs. Providedirect or indirect psychiatric care via supervising residents and/or medical students including collaborative evaluation, diagnosis, and medication treatment of mental disorders for patients at LAC+USC medical center. Facilitate referrals anddisposition to appropriate care level, when needed. Support medicationtreatment with brief supportive therapy and motivational interviewing when indicated. Cover on-call emergencies, as assigned. This includes being available for urgent medication issues of patients on assigned workdays. Complete documentation in a timely manner and in compliance with departmental and Los Angeles General Medical Center policies. Attend multidisciplinaryfaculty and staffmeetings. Collaborateand consult with other mental health providers and medical specialties to promote the best care possible for patients. Participatein yearly merit review and performance evaluations, peer review, quality improvement activities and otherunit, departmental, and division teams and committees. Provide teaching and supervision of psychiatry residents (PGY 1-4s) and medical students. Attend Psychiatry Department Grand Rounds, Social Justice Forums, and Department Matters meetings. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. Minimum Qualifications Must be a State of California licensed Physician (or eligible for CA state licensing) and a board certified (preferred) or board eligible psychiatrist. Experience in medication treatment, psychiatric stabilization, and crisis intervention. Multicultural competency in working with patients of color and from disadvantaged economic classes, LGBTQ patients, and international patients. Resilient, self-aware, and able to thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment Preferred Qualifications An advanced practiceclinicianpossessingwell-developed clinical and psychopharmacological skills and the willingness to support the development of evidence-based clinical guidelines for patients. Effectively works in a highly diverse and multicultural patient population and LGBTQ affirmative environment; experience and commitment to working with minority individuals. Interest and skill inanintegrated approach to care. Commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice and to professional integrity. Desire to continue to grow as a professional and committed to excellence and lifelong learning. Language skills other than English are welcomed but not required. The annual base salary range for this position is $215,250-$300,000.
