As we expand to support human space flight missions to the lunar surface and beyond, we are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Engineer to join our innovative team.
Position Overview:
The Radiation Engineer will lead the radiation testing and evaluation of electronic products and materials, ensuring their reliability and performance in space and military/aerospace applications. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to perform testing, create technical documentation, and develop strategies for radiation protection and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Radiation Testing and Analysis: Lead the testing and evaluation of electronic components for radiation effects, including heavy ion and proton Single Event Effects (SEE). Utilize analysis tools such as CREME96, SPENVIS, and OMERE/Fastrad.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documents, guides, and implementation procedures. Ensure accuracy and clarity in all documentation related to requirements, design, and implementation.
- Project Leadership: Manage strategic short- and long-term projects, providing clear and concise information to assist end-users and support project goals.
- Collaboration: Work with internal business partners, including Program Managers, Operations, and Engineers, to develop strategies and content. Collaborate on documentation process development and quality governance.
- Content Management: Participate in content management efforts and documentation process improvements. Ensure continuity and consistency in technical content and style.
- User Support: Develop easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides. Create tutorials and other resources to aid end-users in navigating a variety of applications.
- Confluence Management: Oversee and manage the informational architecture in Confluence to ensure organized and accessible documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in radiation parts testing for heavy ion and proton SEE, including analysis of radiation effects for electronic components. Relevant university project or research experience will be considered.
- Proficiency with analysis tools such as CREME96, SPENVIS, and OMERE/Fastrad.
- Strong ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation and guides.
- Proven experience leading strategic projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on creating user-friendly content.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, start-up environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in space or military/aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with additional radiation testing and analysis tools.
- Previous experience with Confluence or similar content management systems.
