Position Summary Incumbent will functio n as a department fund manager supporting the Electrical Engineering Department, professors and research groups in the areas of purchasing, accounting and contract and grant administration. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications Knowledge of and ability to analyze and interpret purchasing, travel and equipment management policies (Required) Knowledge of purchasing rules and regulations, including determination of needs, selection of items, and cost savings techniques sufficient to develop procedures and make recommendations on purchases (Required) Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in operating the UCLA BruinBuy purchasing system (Required) Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and computer based filing systems. (Required) Ability to interact effectively with all levels of faculty, staff and outside vendors and to maintain composure when confronted with difficult situations. (Required) Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. (Required) Ability to take responsibility for action taken in solving a problem or achieving a goal and ability to apply accounting principles and university guidelines pertaining to purchasing issues. (Required) Ability to work independently under minimal direction to establish priorities and follow through on assignments and take corrective action in a timely manner. (Required) Ability to manage time in order to accomplish a variety of tasks in a fast-paced office under competing priorities and changing circumstances. (Required) Skill in efficiently organizing files and maintaining accurate records of transactions. (Required) Skill in operating a 10-key calculator; adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing numbers including decimals in order to complete basic accounting functions. (Required) Demonstrated skill in financial analysis and grant, budget preparation including preparation of accounting journals and ledger reconciliation and working knowledge of basic accounting principles and contract and grant policies and procedures (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor’s Degree in related area and/ or equivalent combination of education and experience / training (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
