Position Summary Under general direction of the Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives the Strategic Funds Grants Manager will administer CCE internal grant programs designed to support community-engaged research and teaching, including three internal funding programs associated with the UCLA Strategic Plan. In addition to administering the application, review, and post-award processes for these programs, the incumbent will gather and analyze applicant and awardee report data, prepare outcome reporting for campus leadership, identify and develop additional resources for awardees, and support cohort meetings of awardees across all funding categories The incumbent will utilize InfoReady (with training provided by the Office of Research and Creative Activities) to manage the receipt of applications, review of applications, the award process, and post-award processes. The incumbent will support ongoing assessment of both the individual funded projects and the funding programs themselves. The incumbent will also support the identification of new extramural funding sources and preparation of new funding proposals to support the funding programs beyond the initial Strategic Plan-funded allocations. The incumbent will process internal grant awards in compliance with University policy, review and approve financial transactions, resolve problems, and maintain appropriate files. Incumbent is to work cooperatively with faculty and staff, process all grant proposals, and allocate funds appropriately. Must have high level of financial and analytical ability and is expected to recognize potential problem areas; provide resources for problem resolution. Experienced professional who will maintain CCE’s record of accounts and expenditures per fund; keep abreast of university accounting, practices, policies and procedures; develop knowledge of any external funding agency requirements; ensure CCE compliance with University policies, and update staff, the Assistant Vice Provost, and faculty on new and/or changing policies and procedures. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications Experienced professional who knows how to apply theory, put into practice with in-depth understanding of the area. (Required) High level of financial and analytical ability, recognize problems, provide resolutions. (Preferred) Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated skill in analyzing and synthesizing information from various sources, producing hypothesis and conclusions, and compiling into a clear, concise report and/or presentation. (Required) Possesses broad job knowledge, analyzes problems with diverse scope to determine solutions. Demonstrates critical analysis and forecasting. (Required) Skill in organization work, defining tasks, setting priorities, and following through on all assignments with minimal direction. (Required) Working knowledge of UCLA’s general accounting, personnel, travel and reimbursement policies and procedures. (Preferred) Ability to analyze information, set goals which accurately reflect importance of job responsibilities when faced with workload and pressure of deadlines. Performing against deadlines with frequent interruptions and competing priorities. Possess skills to prepare and forecast budgets. (Required) Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are competing requirements and pressures of deadlines. (Required) Demonstrated skill in compiling and organizing information and statistics for reports. (Required) Ability to analyze complex technical data using logic and quantitative reasoning. (Required) Skill in working independently and identifying more effective methods of work operation. Ability to participate, maintain and work in a team atmosphere. (Required) Demonstrated skill in budgetary analysis and control which includes reconciling ledgers, monitoring expenditures based on existing revenue and cost data. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, staff, faculty, students, other campus departments and external stakeholders. Ability to use diplomacy and respect confidentiality in situations where it is warranted. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor’s Degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
