Job Summary The Research Associate will lead the analysis of the SPHEREx cosmological large-scale structure survey. They will lead the development of power spectrum and bispectrum estimator, and validate the overall methodology on numerical simulations. Essential Job Duties Develop power spectrum and bispectrum estimators and validate their performance, first in simulations and then on the real data. Simulate the effects of known systematic errors on these estimators. Write scientific publications on this work. Analyze the SPHEREx galaxy redshift survey for constraints on cosmological parameters, and report on the results and the statistical and systematic errors in publications. Basic Qualifications PhD in physics, astronomy or astrophysics with an extensive post-PhD background in cosmological analysis in large-scale structure surveys. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary technical and scientific teams. Preferred Qualifications Strong background in statistical analysis methods. Familiarity with the formats and instrumental properties of the SPHEREx data products. Background in computational methods and numerical analyses.
