The Scheduling Assistant 3 is a key member of the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center. This role oversees appointment scheduling, ensures accurate and efficient operations, and serves as a resource for staff and patients regarding scheduling procedures and practices. The Scheduling Assistant III handles complex scheduling issues and collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to optimize patient access and service delivery. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 1 year Customer Service experience (Preferred) Skill in scheduling and patient flow management, including the ability to anticipate and prevent potential conflicts while adapting to clinical staffing levels. (Required) Strong interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and sensitively with a diverse population in a high-volume setting, ensuring excellent patient service. (Required) Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to convey information, explain policies, and demonstrate empathy. (Required) Proficiency in handling stressful situations with equanimity and professionalism, maintaining composure in the face of resistance, indifference, or hostility. (Required) Skill in prioritizing tasks independently and managing fluctuating workloads using effective time management strategies. (Required) Knowledge of patient rights, confidentiality regulations, and informed consent policies to ensure proper handling of medical records and sensitive information. (Required) Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems for scheduling, patient data entry, and account management. (Required) Ability to recognize emergency situations and take appropriate action in accordance with established protocols. (Required) Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating patients’ eligibility and payment status while adhering to institutional guidelines. (Required) Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software applications, including word processing and scheduling tools. (Preferred) Knowledge of UCLA Student Health Service (SHS) policies, procedures, and eligibility guidelines to accurately evaluate patient needs and eligibility.
