As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will help monitor and patrol assigned areas, support staff and visitors, and help identify and report security-related concerns. You will conduct routine rounds, remain visible to help deter incidents, and use strong communication and customer service skills to assist during daily operations. What You’ll Do:
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and/or coordinating timely notifications to medical staff and management.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Control access at entrances and other designated points by monitoring authorized entry, verifying identification and/or visitor authorization as required by post orders.
- Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
- Assist with patient and visitor wayfinding, provide directions, and support traffic flow during peak visiting hours, emergency department activity, and/or special events.
- Complete shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation with accurate details and timely communication to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
- Support emergency procedures such as fire response, evacuation, severe weather actions, and/or lockdown protocols as directed by post orders and local requirements.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency medical responders, and/or hospital departments when requested and consistent with site procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while complying with Allied Universal standards, client site rules, and assigned post instructions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- Have 2+ years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
