As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and access control activity as needed. You will document observations, communicate clearly with tenants and visitors, and support a welcoming environment. What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of building common areas, parking areas, loading and service areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or access control issues.
  • Control access at designated entrances by verifying credentials as required, assisting with visitor check-in processes, and directing guests to appropriate locations.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as cameras, fire and intrusion panels, and/or access control alarms, and respond to alerts in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, trespassing concerns, suspicious activity, and/or medical situations, and request additional assistance when needed.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and/or unusual observations in detailed written reports and log entries, and communicate relevant information during shift turnovers.
  • Assist with tenant and property management requests such as lock and unlock services, after-hours access, and coordinating with maintenance teams when issues are observed.
  • Perform perimeter checks and interior inspections to help to deter unauthorized entry, identify unsecured doors or gates, and verify restricted areas remain controlled.
  • Support emergency procedures including evacuations and/or shelter-in-place directions as communicated by site leadership and Allied Universal, and help coordinate with first responders upon arrival.
  • Maintain a professional presence, follow site-specific rules regarding customer interaction and appearance, and comply with Allied Universal standards and reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
