As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, verify credentials, manage visitor logs, and help control entry and exit at gates and checkpoints. You will remain highly visible, communicate clearly with site contacts, and document security-related activity to support smooth operations. What You’ll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access at entry points by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, verifying appointments and/or work orders, and directing visitors and contractors to the proper areas.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by coordinating driver check-in and check-out, verifying pickup and delivery information, logging trailer and container numbers, and reporting irregularities to site leadership.
- Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems; respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and complete detailed reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity.
Minimum Requirements:
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
