As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will assist guests and team members with clear communication, observe and report concerns, and support loss prevention efforts when needed. What You’ll Do:
- Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and client representatives by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, disorderly conduct, medical calls, and other service requests.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail and mall location, including entrances, common areas, corridors, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
- Help to deter theft, property damage, and unauthorized access by maintaining a visible presence and promptly addressing unusual activity.
- Monitor access points and key areas, assisting with crowd flow during peak hours and special events within the entertainment and retail environment.
- Observe and report conditions that may pose a risk to people, property, or operations, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
- Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in a clear and timely manner.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire department, and emergency medical services when needed and/or as directed by site procedures.
- Assist with closing and opening procedures as assigned, including checking doors, gates, and restricted areas for signs of tampering.
- Follow Allied Universal post orders and client instructions, using radio and/or phone communications to relay pertinent information to supervisors and site personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
