Position Summary Working in the Center for Accessible Education (CAE), the Senior Coaching Disability Specialist involves working with a specialized caseload of CAE students while leading a coaching program with a caseload of students at the CAE providing executive functioning and social-emotional coaching readiness support. Major responsibilities include coordinating and developing a coaching program to support students with executive functioning needs, face-to-face student meetings, regular student check-ins, management of graduate student coaches to support the program, as well as communication with parents, college personnel, and relevant offices on campus. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 3-5 years Professional experience in post-secondary settings with students with disabilities (Required) 3-5 years Professional experience supporting students in learning strategies, academic coaching, or similar academic support (Required) Advanced knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Assembly Bill 746. (Required) Working knowledge of UC Guidelines and Practices, and University Policy as they pertain to students with disabilities. (Preferred) Advanced knowledge of a variety of assessment instruments and psycho-educational reports used todiagnose specific learning disabilities in adults and demonstrated ability to interpret test results andpsycho-educational reports to determine eligibility for services. (Required) Expertise in designing and delivering executive function coaching sessions to student participants. (Required) Advanced knowledge and demonstrated ability to provide counseling on disability management and compensatory strategies for students with disabilities, particularly students with severe ADHD or students on the Autism Spectrum. (Required) Ability to lead collaboration with individuals, departments and organizations on and off campus. (Required) Skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing to obtain and convey information. Interpersonal skills to interact sensitively with students (with various disabilities and from diverse backgrounds) and with campus colleagues, governmental officials and community representatives. (Required) Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, subordinates and management. (Required) Ability to assist in general office functions when needed. (Preferred) Ability to supervise and train graduate student staff in the effective delivery of executive function coaching strategies and techniques to support student participants. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Master’s Degree Educational field of study or similar. (Required) Currently certified as a Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) or a willingness and ability to engage in a training to become certified within one year of appointment.
