Job Description:

  • What You’ll Be Doing:

    Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team! You will be providing instrumentation and controls for new and existing facilities for various client projects. Projects may include simple site utility improvements, thru brownfield modernizations of specialized inspection facilities, to greenfield chemical production facilities. You may be supporting or be supported by other engineers and designers/drafters on one or more projects.

    What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

    ·       Knowledge of various instrument types (e.g., operating principle, instrument selection, materials of construction).

    ·       Knowledge of hardware for modern control systems, control room/stations and, backend control system (I/O, historian, VM servers, and other control system components).

    ·       All thought not required, knowledge of programming and configuration of controls systems/automation is desirable.

    ·       Knowledge of relevant standards, e.g., ISA, NFPA/NEC, UFC/UFGS.

    ·       Knowledge of system design, procurement, commissioning and starting, troubleshooting, and operations/maintenance.

     

    What You Need to Know about the Position:

    ·       Bachelor’s Degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (or related field) and typically 8+ years of related work experience is required by the position. Professional Engineer registration is not required but is desirable. 

    ·       Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required. Parsons projects may use Autodesk, Hexagon, and other engineering applications, the engineer is expected to utilize software as required by assignment. Experience with Microsoft Office/365 suite is expected.

    ·       Partial WFH is acceptable, but proximity to and willingness to work from corporate (engineering) offices is required.

    ·       You must be a US Citizen, but no security clearance is required.

     

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    ·       Performing complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.

    ·       Preparing and/or check specifications (control system and instrumentation), location plans, equipment/instrument schedules, datasheets, and other drawings and documents required to design, procure, install, configure, and operate I&C equipment and devices.

    ·       Extracting engineering information from CAD drawings.

    ·       Preparing engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
    Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
    Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

    ·       Coordinating activities and deliverables with group leads and other engineers with in I&C discipline on the project.

    ·       Programing and configuring controls system equipment,
    Frequently interfaces other engineers, Engineering disciplines, as well as other departments.

    ·       Preparing detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
    This includes reviewing supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.

    ·       Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level engineers working on the same project.

    ·       Supporting the commissioning and installation of field equipment.

    ·       Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Salary Range: 

$83,300.00 – $145,800.00
