Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Paralegal/ Legal Assistant II to join a leading federal prosecution team. This remote position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact criminal and civil cases by performing advanced legal research, supporting litigation efforts, and assisting in case development.

Responsibilities of the Senior Paralegal/ Legal Assistant II include:

  • Conduct specialized legal research and writing on complex or novel criminal and civil matters, including analysis of statutes, legislative history, judicial precedents, and agency regulations
  • Utilize automated legal research tools and electronic discovery platforms to support case preparation and litigation
  • Assist in evaluating case referrals for litigation readiness, identifying gaps in evidence, and recommending strategies to strengthen cases
  • Collaborate with attorneys to assess legal merits, potential defenses, and damages in referred cases
  • Support outreach and training efforts with federal, state, and local agencies, including preparation of informational materials and presentations
  • Manage incoming pleadings and correspondence, track deadlines, and draft legal documents, proposed orders, and judicial decrees
  • Prepare and organize discovery materials, coordinate witness interviews, and support attorneys during court proceedings by briefing on case facts and legal issues

Qualifications for the Legal Senior Paralegal/ Legal Assistant II include:

  • Demonstrated experience in legal research and writing, particularly in criminal or civil litigation
  • Proficiency with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and electronic discovery tools
  • Strong understanding of federal legal procedures, evidentiary standards, and litigation strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents
  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, or related field; paralegal certification or JD preferred
  • Experience working with government agencies or in a prosecutorial environment is a plus

Compensation for the Senior Paralegal/ Legal Assistant II includes:

  • Salary: *$73,500 – $76,000*
