Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Site Reliability/DevSecOps Engineer to support a cutting-edge spacecraft and satellite operations program in Los Angeles, CA and Washington, D.C. The team is seeking an engineer who is experienced across DevOps practices, mission systems, and cloud engineering to support the deployment of the infrastructure to various air-gapped classified environments.  

Clearance: Secret Clearance, TS/SCI desired

Location(s): Los Angeles, CA OR Washington, D.C. (Hybrid)

 Responsibilities of the Site Reliability Engineer:  

  

  •  Technical troubleshooting of complex enterprise and mission-critical systems.
  • Architect, automate, test, deploy, and maintain a well-designed, highly available cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud and AWS C2E with a strong focus on security, compliance, and operational excellence
  • Ensure adherence to SOC2, NIST 800-171, and FedRAMP Moderate controls while supporting cleared environments and workflows
  •  Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the cloud-based platform is operational to all required performance metrics
  • Manage deployment and on-going maintenance at customer sites
  • Define best practices for availability, latency, and performance across all services and mission areas

Qualifications of the Site Reliability Engineer:

   

  • Secret Clearance required, TS/SCI preferred 
  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps, SRE, platform engineer, or infrastructure engineer
  • Experience working toward ATO/authorization in federal DoD, or IC environments
  • Experience supporting deployments in GovCloud, C2S/C2E, or IL-enclave environments
  • In-depth experience with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and serverless architectures
  • Proficiency in Python and Terraform or similar IaC tooling
  • Strong understanding of networking including VPNs, HTTPS, TLS, VPC, and CDN integration
  • Experience supporting space or satellite systems highly preferred

Compensation of the Site Reliability Engineer:

  • Total compensation based on experience level – $160,000-$200,000 **based on years of experience and degree level**
