Description
Become a vital part of the team at the Santa Monica Pediatric Specialty Care clinic! In this rewarding role, you’ll provide exceptional multi-specialty care to children of all ages in an outpatient setting. You’ll support our Allergy specialists along with other specialty providers, working closely with a dedicated team to deliver outstanding service and make a meaningful impact on patient care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Administer immunotherapy injections, performing skin prick tests, and other procedures for allergy patients
- Record and monitor patient vitals and medical history
- Conduct venipuncture and blood draws with precision
- Perform EKGs, administer tests and medications
- Collect and manage patient specimens accurately
- Maintain clean and well-stocked patient rooms
Salary Range: $36.34-47.94 HourlyQualifications
Required:
* Possess active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and blood withdrawal certification listed.
* Possession of active BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
* Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
* Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
* Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems.
* Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers.
* Performs phlebotomy, CPR, Injections, and other skills within scope of practice.
* Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems.
* Knowledge of all safety requirements when handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments
* Verbal skills to effectively convey sensitive information in a courteous manner in person or on the telephone.
Preferred:
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
