The Senior Manager, Sports Events – Operations & Field plays a key role in connecting Red Bull’s national sports events strategy with field marketing execution, while also supporting the overall coordination, planning, and development of the national events portfolio. This position acts as a central link between Field Marketing, regional teams, and the National Sports Events function, ensuring alignment in working methods, business planning, and execution standards.

In addition to leading field-driven sports initiatives, the Senior Manager contributes to strategic planning, innovation, and portfolio expansion by identifying opportunities from the field, supporting the development of new concepts, and helping to shape future event projects.

Working closely with the Senior Director, Sports Events, this role supports business planning processes, leads cross-functional coordination, and manages key strategic partnerships. The Senior Manager also develops scalable systems, toolkits, and frameworks that strengthen the overall sports events ecosystem.

  • FIELD SPORTS EVENTS INTEGRATION & WAYS OF WORKING

    Serve as the primary point of contact for all field marketing-led sports event initiatives across all regions.

    Drive alignment between National Sports Events and Field Marketing in planning, execution standards, and the long-term development of sports event properties.

    Establish and continuously improve clear ways of working between national and regional teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability.

    Support and guide regional teams in delivering field-led sports initiatives that are aligned with Red Bull’s brand standards and strategic priorities.

    Identify high-potential local initiatives and support their development into scalable or future national Red Bull-branded event properties.

  • OPERATIONS, BUSINESS PLANNING & PORTFOLIO COORDINATION

    Support the Senior Director of Sports Events in organizing and coordinating the national sports events portfolio across business planning cycles.

    Lead the collection, consolidation, and alignment of regional inputs for business planning, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with overall strategy.

    Serve as the central coordination point for regional sports event plans, identifying overlaps, gaps, and opportunities to optimize the portfolio.

    Manage the tracking and visibility of the overall sports events portfolio, ensuring agreement on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

    Support financial and operational planning in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, including Finance, Procurement, and Field Marketing.

  • INNOVATION & NEW CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

    Lead the identification and development of new event concepts based on Field Marketing and regional insights.

    Support pilot initiatives from initial concept through validation, including planning, budgeting, and measuring success.

    Contribute to the overall sports events innovation pipeline by identifying trends, gaps, and new opportunities.

    Ensure new concepts align with Red Bull’s long-term strategy and can be scaled or integrated into the national portfolio.

  • TOOLKIT & SCALABLE EVENT PROPERTIES

    Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the Sports Events Toolkit designed for Field Marketing.

    Ensure smaller “fire” events are clearly structured, easy to execute, and aligned with national quality standards and premium brand guidelines.

    Continuously enhance toolkit assets in both quantity and quality to enable scalable use across regions.

    Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the toolkits remain relevant, effective, and adaptable to changing market needs.

  • TRAINING, CAPABILITY BUILDING & STANDARDIZATION

    Lead the development of training programs and educational frameworks for Sports Event Managers and relevant Field Marketing teams.

    Create and standardize key documentation, including event briefs, operational guidelines, and reporting structures.

    Support the Senior Director of Sports Events in strengthening regional capabilities by developing frameworks, tools, and training programs that improve planning, execution, and strategic decision-making across all Sports Events and Field Marketing teams.

    Establish and maintain best practices and standardized processes to enhance executional quality across all initiatives.

    Promote cross-regional knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

  • STRATEGIC 3RD PARTY PARTNERSHIPS

    Support the management and development of key strategic third-party partnerships (e.g., HYROX, resort partners, global event series).

    Serve as the central coordination point for regional teams executing activities within these partnerships.

    Provide guidance to ensure consistent brand representation and to maximize the value of each partnership across all markets.

    Identify opportunities to expand or optimize partnerships based on regional performance data and insights.

EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

  • 7+ years of experience in event management, preferably within sports and marketing
  • Proven track record of managing national or large-scale event portfolios, with both strategic and operational responsibility
  • Experience managing staff, external agencies, and complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of sports marketing, production logistics, and emerging trends in fitness and participatory events
  • Proven ability to align cross-functional teams and translate strategy into high-impact execution
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Travel 10-20%
