The School of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, anticipates Staff Physician openings for our Primary Care Associates Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The FQHC provides clinical services for UCI Health patients of all ages in Orange County, CA. Clinical sites include Anaheim and Santa Ana. We are seeking a qualified individual who is an excellent clinician with a strong commitment to working in medically underserved areas, clinical leadership, quality improvement and team-based patient care. The incumbent is responsible for providing expert medical care to UCI Health patients with a range of potential illnesses, injuries, or disabilities. Their duties include conducting routine physical examinations on patients, referring patients to medical specialists, and/or prescribing medications based on the patient’s medical conditions. The incumbent reports directly to the FQHC Executive Medical Director and Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs/Strategy. Essential Job Functions: Provides clinical expertise while responding to patients’ medical complaints and evaluating their health history. Order diagnostic tests and refer patients to specialists when necessary. Analyze reports, examinations, medical records, and test results to accurately diagnose patients. Present and discuss treatment options with patients, prescribe and review medications, advise patients of diet and/or lifestyle changes to improve health conditions Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while in compliance of all UC and FQHC policies and procedures Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all state and federal privacy laws Required/Preferred to be bilingual in Spanish The FQHC locations qualify for various state and federal loan repayment programs Your Role on the Team The incumbent is responsible for providing expert medical care to UCI Health patients with a range of potential illnesses, injuries, or disabilities.
