Student Success Coordinator, ABSN, ADN and Online RN-BSN Programs The Student Success Coordinator is to coordinate the success of nursing students in the ABSN, ADN and Online RN-BSN programs, ensuring that retention and attrition rates meet state regulations and national accreditation standards, as well as providing assessment and program development to maximize National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) outcomes. Assess and advise the personal and academic support needs of the ABSN, ADN and Online RN-BSN students. Work Location: Chalon Campus (West Los Angeles) and Doheny Campus (Downtown Los Angeles). Remote work available 1-2 days per week. Start Date: Immediately Applications Deadline: Open until filled Position Hourly Rate Range: $21.10 – $23.38 Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate’s qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. The following responsibilities relate to Retention and Attrition: Supports the admissions process for both program options with evidence-based recommendations and feedback. Works with the ABSN, ADN and RN to BSN Program Directors to analyze data on student Notices of Academic Difficulty and progression criteria to maximize targeted tutoring referrals for retention and minimize attrition. Coordinates relationships with Student Affairs to support program development including tutoring services, intellectual skill development, and psycho-social services. Develops programs to improve student outcomes, with special attention to high-risk students, including working with the Business Office and Financial Aid. Participates and develops student success modules for orientation and ongoing development. 2. The following responsibilities relate to NCLEX-RN Success: Develops support services and supports individualized study plans for both the ADN student populations to ensure success on the NCLEX-RN. Tracks and evaluates our integrated testing program. Provides feedback and data to faculty and Program Directors on the integrated testing system and NCLEX-RN pass rates. Serves as support for proctoring integrated tests. Tracks student progression through the nursing program in collaboration with program directors, assistant directors and program coordinators. Available to students and faculty for directions, questions, and concerns in collaboration with program director and assistant director. 3. The following responsibilities relate to students: Develops and implements programs for group and individual student development with an orientation to student success. Serves as advisor to students seeking RN licensure out-of-state per MSMU policy. Supports faculty in student advisement with the at-risk student. Provides support, academic counseling and advising for at-risk students. Works as an active member of the Admission and Evaluation Committees. Develops individualized education plans for identified high-risk students in the BSN Program. Assists with the academic orientation process for new online students and teaches an online introductory orientation for new online students in the RN-BSN program 4. The following responsibilities relate to operations: Supervises student worker for specialty projects. Provides data for regulatory and accrediting bodies, and the university in collaboration with Director, Assistant Director and the Dean/Dean’s Assistant. Coordinates meetings, projects, and events with faculty, program director, and assistant director. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Work closely and collegially with the: Director of Advisement, Director of Admission, Assistant / Associate Director of Admission for Nursing Recruitment, Registrar, Director of Health Services, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, Director of Financial Aid, Director of the Business Office, and Coordinator of Inter-campus Transfers. Attends professional development events Perform other job duties, as assigned. Job Requirements: Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of general advisement policies, procedures and practices including for Online students. Good working knowledge of general office policies, procedures, equipment and practices. Excellent working knowledge of computers and word-processing, spreadsheet, database and/or other types of software applications used by the ABSN, ADN and Online RN-BSN program. Abilities and Skills: Organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks to meet established deadlines. Analytical, detail-oriented and accurate. Exercise sound judgment and decision-making. Works as a team player. Understanding of, and sensitivity to, a diverse university environment. Build rapport and maintain positive and effective relationships with a variety of people. Engage in attentive and effective listening to accurately assess situations and provide relevant information. Excellent counseling, listening, critical thinking, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills. Strong oral/written communication, organization and prioritization, record-keeping, data collection and tabulation, and supervisory skills. Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience: A minimum of one year of advisement, counseling, or student support experience.
