Description:This is a deployed position co-located in Orange County working primarily at one Lockheed Martin supplier company. (Work location reasonable to LM business requirements as defined in agreement with manager, not a remote position)
• This position is part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Supplier Quality Management team. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading a deployed team to achieve total quality performance at a strategic supplier that produces major airframe components. Goals are to lead the supplier through the process of developing and executing plans that ensure long term flow of defect-free products in support of LM Aero production.
• The selected candidate will be accountable for collaborating with LM Engineering, Factory Leadership, LM Global Supplier Chain Leadership, Customer representatives, the supplier’s functional organizations and executive leadership at the supplier sites to solve technical and contractual issues, and for ensuring supplier performance is aligned with achieving quality and affordability goals Candidate is responsible for reporting to executive leadership, across multiple departments, and customers including DCMA and the Joint Program Office (JPO).
• This position is for the West Region Airframe Supplier Quality Engineering Tech. Lead, supporting approximately two Supplier Quality Engineers.
• Lead and direct team under minimal oversite to utilize quality science methods to identify and control sources of variation detrimental to quality, cost, and schedule targets.
• Lead and direct team to conduct/coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments. Emphasis will be placed on validation of key process capability.
• Scope of responsibility includes: Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) performance and supplier engagements for the following: quality and cost data analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action investigations/ decisions/ validations, variation management actions, supplier quality integration tasks, along with area improvement strategy and planning.
• Responsible and accountable for delivering effective methods and initiating improvements that will drive and improve overall quality performance reducing area defects and scrap, rework, and repair cost.
• Candidate will provide local customer interface and ensure Supplier Quality Engineer support resources are covered.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 14 years of experience.
• Proficient in Blueprint Reading and First Article Inspection (FAI)
• Interpretation of Engineering Process Specifications
• Expert level verification of mechanical methods for complex machined parts and assemblies
• Expert level knowledge of GD&T
• Understanding order of engineering presidency and CATIA models
• Understand and validate quality planning
• Expert level RCCA insuring effectiveness of CA plans
• Expert level of surveillance of QMS / manufacturing processes
Desired Skills:
• Proficient in building working relationship with suppliers at all leadership levels
• Self-starter working high level of autonomy
• Comfortable with high pressure scenarios responding to high visibility and critical situations for quality issues and production support
• Certified Black / Green belt lean and Six-Sigma quality engineering methodologies
• Experience in composites, tubes, transparencies, sheet metal, and elastomers
• Predictive surveillance quality systems for deficiency identification and correction

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $112,800 – $216,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $129,700 – $244,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
