Your Role on the Team Position Summary: The System Director, Financial Reporting and Accounting is responsible for the operational leadership, administrative oversight, and systemwide coordination of all external financial reporting, general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, financial planning and forecasting, and statistical gathering and reporting functions across UCI Health. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial operations and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, FQHC and hospital reporting requirements, and all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including GAAP, FASB, HRSA, and OSHPD reporting requirements. This role maintains accountability for the development and maintenance of accounting systems to safeguard UCI Healt assets, ensure accurate financial information, and support the achievement of organizational financial goals across all assigned functions. The System Director provides direct oversight and is responsible for the selection, onboarding, competency validation, performance evaluation, and professional development of all assigned coworkers. This position serves on UCI Health committees and work teams to develop and implement financial policies and procedures, ensures that year-end audits by public accounting firms and third-party auditors are conducted smoothly and in a timely manner, and prepares financial reports for use by executive and senior leadership. This position exercises wide latitude of authority in determining departmental goals and measures to achieve systemwide financial reporting and accounting objectives with limited oversight. Six or more years experience supervising hospital general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll Minimum 8 years’ experience of progressive management responsibility Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an executive leadership role (Director or higher) in a related setting Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Ability to develop and implement programs and improve organizational performance Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in the finance area of an acute-care facility CPA or MBA Total Rewards We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
