About the Position:
Our team is dedicated to redefining the possibilities of embedded hardware systems for space applications. With over 40 years of successful space hardware delivery, we are expanding to support human spaceflight missions to the lunar surface and beyond!
Responsibilities:
- Complexity of Task Assignment: Work on highly complex project systems requiring innovative and original solutions. Engage in the development lifecycle from concept to completion for development programs.
- Planning: Conduct technical planning, estimate, track, and complete projects on time and within budget.
- Scope/Impact: Ensure results are key to the successful completion of projects and programs.
- Lead/Oversight Responsibilities: Teach and train junior technical staff.
- Supervision: Work mostly independently with minimal supervision.
- Guidance: Provide guidance to the team.
- Initiative: Exercise initiative and judgment in work methods and interpreting goals.
- Technical Writing: Contribute to substantial proposal writing sections and design review data packages.
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME): Be a SME for an area/system with a detailed understanding of how multiple systems interact within the area.
- Industry Standards: Understand space industry standards; familiarity with military/aerospace standards is a plus.
- Innovation: Develop innovative solutions to unique problems.
- Recognition: Achieve technical accomplishments recognized at design reviews and within the site.
- Business Development: Craft effective technical paths to capture significant follow-on business.
- Training/Mentoring: Effectively train and mentor work groups and lead work teams.
- Communication: Give effective presentations to general audiences and write convincing proposals/reports with necessary backup material.
- Conflict Resolution: Resolve divergent technical opinions within the team and with customers.
- Technical Execution: Independently manage system requirements, system architecture, gate reviews, MEM, launch, and flight operations, or model mission engineering for complicated systems. Lead system failure root cause corrective action investigations and provide technical influence over company direction and customer engagements.
