The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that all employees are fully trained and consistently follow all safety, quality, and production procedures. The Team Lead will serve as a mentor and trainer for his/her team with the goal of No One Gets Hurt, Zero Defects to the Customer, sense of urgency, customer centricity, and Producing plastic components, tools, fixtures, and dies. The Team Lead will manage and prioritize work requested from the Tooling Department (including R&D samples and Prototypes) and will make sure the team provide feedback to internal and external customers. The Team Lead will also be expected to machine orders as needed to meet the (internal) customer needs.

Responsibilities:
· Work with all employees to complete work orders in accordance with the schedule. Provide input/feedback to the Supervisor and Scheduling/Production/Manufacturing Engineering/R&D when potential issues are discovered in the schedule. Identify/facilitate router corrections so the supervisor can initiate QAD Change Requests. Machine special/expedite orders as needed to meet delivery schedule.
· Mentor and Train new employees on job skills, safety, and quality procedures. Lead by example. Cross-train employees. Sign off on the effectiveness of training conducted based on established performance metrics/goals to recommend employees for promotions.
· Participate in safety inspections, audits, and other safety activities; identify/correct unsafe acts and conditions. Be an active leader of the 5S team in your area. Apply and sustain 5S principles in your respective work areas – complete action items in a timely manner. Even when the supervisor is not available, conduct daily stand-up meetings with all employees. Monitor employee adherence to company policies (e.g. punctuality, cell phone usage, smoking, etc.) and provide feedback to the Supervisor.
· Be able to machine most items made in the department and ensure parts conform to the drawings. This includes:
o Read blueprints, sketches, specifications, or CAD and CAM files for making tools and dies.
o Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces
o Set up, operate, and operate conventional machines, Lathes, Mills Grinders EDM.
o File, grind, and adjust parts so that they fit together properly
o Test completed tools and dies to ensure that they meet specifications
o Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies
o Single point threads various types.
o Ability to manufacture parts with verbal instructions.
o Grind tool to detail drawing.
· Provide feedback to (internal) customers about any improvements needed (e.g. program, fixtures, speeds, tooling, etc.)
· Participate on process improvement teams, and other continuous improvement activities. Participate on WCM teams, Capital Projects, WCM Ideas, etc. Attend meetings, actively participate, and fulfill assignments. Motivate and assist employees in generating cost saving and process improvement ideas.
· Maximize machine up-time by ensuring Autonomous Maintenance checklists are completed in your area in accordance with the procedure. Also prepare maintenance work order requests on equipment as appropriate and submit them to your supervisor for approval.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
College degree or vocational certification is preferred.
5+ years of Toolmaker experience is required.
2+ years of supervisory or lead experience is preferred.

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ well-being and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $32.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/a quarterly bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 7.5% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs./week * 52wks)) for this position is $71,552 to $89,440. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee.
