Are you an experienced trial attorney looking for an exciting new opportunity? Courtney D. Flannery & Associates, Staff Counsel for State Farm Insurance, is expanding our team and seeking talented attorneys with diverse experience levels. We are looking for:
- Experienced trial attorneys with 15+ years of civil litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, with a strong desire to conduct trials. Leadership potential and an insurance defense background are a plus.
- We are also looking for an attorney with 5-7 years of experience in civil litigation who is eager to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full file responsibility, managing an inventory of approximately 40-50 files.
- Represent clients in complex legal matters, including litigation and trials.
- Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide expert legal advice.
- Independently manage a caseload where work is time sensitive.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- For senior positions: 15+ years of civil litigation experience.
- For mid-level positions: 5-7 years of civil litigation experience.
- Trial experience required.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with the level of experience.
- Experience presenting and cross-examining lay and expert witnesses.
- Must have an active law license to practice in California and be a member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Outstanding written and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong software/technological skills, including competency in Word, Outlook, and Westlaw.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Preferred qualification: Insurance defense background.

Potential salary range (senior position): $125,950.00 to $231,550.00
Potential salary range (mid-level position): $110,550.00 to $184,800.00
Potential yearly incentive pay up to 16% of base salary

Based in Glendale, California, we maintain an active and busy civil trial practice in Los Angeles, Kern, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties.
