UCLA Ethnomusicology 2025-26 Part-Time Lecturer: Music & Dance of Tibet Ensemble University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF10479 The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s Department of Ethnomusicology invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Music and Dance of Tibet ensemble for the Winter and Spring quarters of the 2025-26 academic year. Candidates must have advanced expertise in the performing arts of Tibet: dance-songs from different regions, Tibetan opera, songs, and dranyen. The candidate will be expected to direct performance ensembles on Tibetan dance-songs, solo songs, and dranyen within a framework of native pedagogy, having students develop performance technique and musicality. The position also requires an ability to develop curriculum on Tibetan performing arts and the capacity to interact with the Tibetan community on various cultural and educational initiatives. Candidates should have extensive experience teaching Tibetan performing arts. Candidates should submit: a cover letter stating interest in the position, a comprehensive curriculum vitae and a statement of teaching philosophy.
