UCLA Music 2025-26 Part-Time Lecturer in Voice Performance

The UCLA Music Performance, Composition and Education Department invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in voice performance for the 2026 Winter Quarter for a sabbatical leave replacement. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with courses assigned.

The candidate will teach weekly voice lessons for voice majors, including both Performance and Music Education majors; students will range from first-year undergraduate up through second-year Master of Music level. Technical work is of chief importance, but lessons will also include instruction on diction, musicianship, style, and dramatic interpretation as needed. Must attend and adjudicate student juries during finals week. Lesson accompanists will be provided, and lesson scheduling is arranged privately with each student prior to the start of the quarter.

Applicants should have at least four years of experience teaching, as well as expertise and experience in the principles of vocal pedagogy and performance. A post-baccalaureate degree is preferred.

The application deadline is August 31, 2025, with an anticipated appointment date of January 1, 2026.
