Position Summary The General Manager of UCLA Vending, Refreshment & Food Delivery Solutions Department oversees the comprehensive operation, strategic planning, and financial performance of the university’s vending services program. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, vendor management, and operational excellence to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. The General Manager will lead efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, drive revenue growth, and align services with the institution’s sustainability and equity initiatives. Supervise, hire train and evaluate a staff of 10 and operate within a $2.5M budget. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 3-5 years experience in vending, AFH (Away From Home) services, or related food & beverage industry experience (Required) 2 years experience managing or leading teams (Required) Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth. (Required) Comprehensive understanding of vending operations, including inventory management, maintenance, supply chain logistics, and vending technologies. (Required) Skilled in preparing, managing, and monitoring budgets to optimize revenue, reduce costs, and achieve financial goals. (Preferred) Ability to prioritize and improve customer satisfaction through service excellence and responsiveness to feedback. (Required) Strong strategic thinking to align departmental goals with institutional priorities, make data-driven decisions, and manage multiple projects. (Required) Ability to negotiate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure high-quality service and product availability. (Preferred) Knowledge of applicable health, safety, and food service regulations to ensure compliance and maintain operational integrity. (Required) Ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and resolve issues effectively to optimize vending services. (Required) Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. (Required) Commitment to implementing sustainable practices, including eco-friendly product offerings and reducing waste. (Preferred) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks and changing priorities. (Preferred) Knowledge of vending machine technologies, cashless payment systems, and remote monitoring tools to improve service efficiency. (Preferred) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (Required) Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (Required) ServSafe Certification or equivalent certification.
