WCC Communications and Project Manager, Women’s College Coalition (WCC) The Women’s College Coalition (WCC) Communications and Project Manager and serves a critical role in coordinating daily activities of the Coalition, as well as in creating and implementing effective communications strategies to advance the Coalition’s work. As a key member of a small team and working closely with the Executive Director, the Communications & Project Manager will work collaboratively to ensure smooth operations and the implementation of the organization’s strategic priorities. Position is part-time, working approximately 20 hours per week on average. Work Location: Fully Remote Start Date: Immediately Applications Deadline: Open until filled Position Hourly Range: $30.00 – $36.00 Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate’s qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description. Duties and Responsibilities: Creating and managing communications and content 1. Acts as the main contact person for the Coalition and cultivate relationships with internal and external key stakeholders and broad audiences. Ensure responses are professional and timely in monitoring email accounts, voicemail, social media and other avenues of communication. 2. Creates, designs and disseminates internal and external communications content including the preparation of presentation and board materials, newsletter, annual report, grant reports, and other documents. 3. Maintains and updates the website, ensuring that the content is current, engaging and accessible. 4. Serves as the point person for media requests. Assist the Executive Director, Board Chair, and other WCC presidents with media requests and preparation of interviews. Monitor and track media coverage about the Coalition and its members. 5. Strengthens and maintains WCC’s social media presence by drafting, editing and posting social media posts on all of the association’s platforms. 6. Works with the Executive Director to develop a proactive strategy to continuously position the Women’s College Coalition and members in both higher education and in the mainstream media. 7. Assists in developing strategic partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders to promote the WCC mission and work with external audiences. 8. Manages the branding policies. Manage projects, operations. logistics, schedules and financial reporting 1. Drafts and coordinates correspondence and updates to member institutions and other partners. 2. Develops, plans and facilitates virtual and in-person meetings including communications, event planning/ logistics, compiling meeting materials, assessment, and arranging logistics including space, food, travel, and other details. 3. Manages daily financial operations including membership dues and billing, processing receipts and disbursements, etc. Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Finance Team to provide financial reports. 4. Develops and continuously improve systems, communications tools and procedures to increase efficiency and collaboration. 5. Assists the Executive Director in the creation and execution of strategic priorities set forth by the WCC Board of Directors. 6. Conducts research and stays informed on women’s colleges and higher education. Conduct research projects as assigned. 7. Maintains and updates the membership database on a regular basis. 8. Facilitates and oversees all other administrative tasks for the Coalition. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties and responsibilities: 1. Assists with grant writing and management. 2. Occasional travel is required with work in the evening. Job Requirements: Knowledge: Knowledge of higher education and women’s colleges preferred. Understanding of and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Abilities and Skills: Skilled in taking initiative, working independently, taking the lead on projects as well as playing an administrative or supportive role, and collaborating with a small team. Exceptional time management skills that enable managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering high quality content within deadlines. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading abilities, and a keen eye for detail. Skilled in working with a broad range of constituents including executive/ senior level leadership. Ability to work in diverse environments and with diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with website maintenance, multiple forms of social media, and communication platforms. Ability to occasionally travel to national meetings. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality. Education: Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred. Experience: 3 years of experience in communications and/or project management. Higher education and/or non-profit organization experience Licenses and Certifications: None Other Requirements: Passion for women’s colleges and women’s education. Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, CA is the host institution and WCC’s Executive Director works remotely from Minnesota. Must provide a work environment conducive to holding Zoom meetings and the other job tasks. The candidate must have access to consistent working internet connection and phone.
