JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The WM Way Coach plays a critical leadership role in driving cultural transformation and operational excellence across the Market Area, spanning from Fresno County to San Diego County. This position is focused on influencing behaviors, developing frontline leaders, and embedding a consistent coaching mindset across Operations, Fleet, and Dispatch teams. Acting as a trusted advisor to site leadership, the Coach aligns day-to-day business practices with WM’s strategic initiatives through direct training, mentoring, and hands-on support.

With a strong foundation in leadership, training, and business process optimization, the WM Way Coach guides teams through change by fostering accountability, encouraging continuous improvement, and championing best practices. By working with various WM sites, the Coach builds strong relationships, ensures alignment across teams, and tailors coaching to the unique operational rhythms of each location. This role requires adaptability, influence without authority, and a passion for elevating team performance through consistent engagement and leadership development.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Champions continuity of WM Way process across the Area.
  • Supports mindset and coaching development at the Site.
  • Works with management and individual team leaders by contributing strategic vision and integrating a broad range of ideas regarding business solutions development.
  • Contributes high-level expertise in business processes and systems analysis while considering the business implications to the current and future business environment.
  • Works with internal and external customers, suppliers, and other partners to resolve problems, respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancements, and test, refine and institutionalize solutions.
  • Drives the project(s) and the organization toward achieving business results.
  • May act as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff demonstrating coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills

III. Qualifications

A. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) or
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) year of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

B. Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

  • This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.

The expected base pay range for this hybrid position is $100,000 – $125,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.

This role is designated as Hybrid which will follow the WM Office Policy requiring in office work and an option to work remotely one day per week.
