Assistant Director for Student Care, Student Affairs Work Location: Both Doheny Campus (Downtown Los Angeles) and Chalon Campus (West Los Angeles) Start Date: Immediately Applications Deadline: Open until filled Annual Salary Rate Range: $68,556.80 – $74,041.34 Monthly Salary Rate Range: $5,713.07 – $6,170.11 Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate’s qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description. Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as the case manager for all students in need of support and resource coordination for their personal wellbeing and academic success; connecting students to resources related to academicprogress, basic needs, financial aid and financial literacy, career and professional development Provides case management for special populations, including, but not limited to first-generation college students, students experiencing housing insecurity, emancipated foster youth, and students considering change in dependency status Utilizes Athenian Care C360software for case management and documentation Provides approvals for the Westside Legacy Fund and the Alumni Emergency Fund for Students, formerly known as the Mount Short Term Emergency Fund Serves as an Athenian Resource Coordinator by providing resources and support to students participating in the student conduct or Title IX process as either a complainant or respondent Prepares annual, monthly and ad-hoc statistical reports, evaluations and presentations for students, faculty or staff Collaborates with other Student Affairs departments, including Dean of Students/AVPSA Office, Residence Life and Housing Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Student Health Services, Undergraduate Dean’s Office, Campus Safety, Academic Advisement, Financial Aid, Student Accounts and other campus stakeholders to coordinate response to student related crises Attend Student Affairs Leadership Team meetings, as needed Serves on select campus committees as needed, to include campus-wide, student retention and success initiatives Builds relationships with community resources and non-profit agencies who provide support to youth and adults experiencing housing insecurity, food insecurity and other basic needs support Leads year-round, weekly Student Care Team meeting with diverse group of campus partners Serves as a member of the campus-wide Behavioral Intervention Team Meets weekly with the Dean of Students/AVPSA to provide updates and identify any areas in need of DOS support to assist with achieving division and campus-wide outcomes Other Duties and Responsibilities: Monthly Service Delivery Reports re: utilization, demographics, trends observed Updates resource materials and presentations Provides observations or recommendations for future service delivery Job Requirements: Knowledge: Professional experience in student development; higher education; student case management in college settings; student conduct; Title IX; crisis management; student retention and success. Knowledge of culturally informed approaches to student support. Professional experience with assessment and program evaluation. Abilities and Skills: Ability to work with diverse populations, ability to manage difficult situations that are emotionally charged, manage crisis. Ability to work independently with consultation as needed, teaching and coaching skills, strong interpersonal, and analytic abilities. Ability to explain complex information and processes in a succinct way. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as experience presenting to diverse audiences. Education: Masters preferred; Master Degree in Counseling; Social Work; Student Affairs; Psychology or related field. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in college student development, student case management, student conduct, or Title IX or social work.
