Department Summary Research in the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology (IBP) is dedicated to explaining the function of complex biological systems, in cells, organs, and individuals. The recent rapid advances in molecular and cell biology and genetics, including the sequencing of numerous genomes, has provided an unprecedented opportunity to use this new information to understand how the genes interact to produce emergent phenotypes in complex systems. Position Summary Under supervision of the PI, the Staff Research Associate SRA 1 will perform a wide variety of standard laboratory and experimental procedures such EEG/EMG headmount surgeries, gonadectomy surgeries, and maintaining animal breeding colonies. They may also modify, vary, or adapt standard procedures to meet the needs of research projects, or improve tests that are unsatisfactory, and after studying available literature, analyze and alter conditions under which determinations are made.
