The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking outstanding applicants to fill an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position in the Division of Pulmonology/Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The APP will work with attending physicians to provide pulmonary and critical care consultation and follow up services in the inpatient and outpatient setting. The APP will also care for pulmonary patients who are admitted to the hospital due to complications of their disorder, complications of their treatment or palliative care. Common conditions include asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary vascular disease, acute and chronic respiratory failure, pneumonia, pleural effusions, hypoxemia, hypercapnia, and other lung diseases. Responsibilitiesof this positioninclude complete/comprehensive history and physical examination, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies, and prescribing appropriate treatments in collaboration with the attending physician. Other responsibilities include consultation with specialist physicians and other team members regarding findings/changes in patient condition, coordination of care with the patient and providers,initiation and adjustment of treatmentin collaboration with the physician and ensuring longitudinal communications with primary and referring providers regarding patient status. Current and valid California State RN and/or Advanced Practice Provider licenses, Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
